Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) are primarily used to create the foundations of the homes. ICF’s are hollow, 8” foam blocks or panels which are stacked and reinforced with re-bar and filled with concrete. The resulting walls offer a long list of benefits including: air tightness, strength, sound proofing, insulation factor of R-25, pest control, mould and fire resistance.
